Background info: I'm currently at my grandparents' house. It's only snowed here ONCE since we've started coming here for Christmas -- which is about ten years -- and that was a measly amount of snow.
The real story: I woke up this morning and looked out the window of my room. There's over a foot of snow on the ground now (closer to one and a half feet, if you ask me). Yesterday there was about... three-quarters of a foot of snow. The day before it had snowed and then rained, so there's a layer of ice over that snow. SO now there's a layer of snow over a layer of ice over a layer of snow.
It's beautiful. I'm going to take my grandpa's camera outside and take a few pictures of frozen plants and stuff.
IT'S SO COLD HERE.
Which is what inspired this.
Actually, looking out at a frozen lake back home inspired this originally, but the snow here is what made me draw it.

This is a speedpaint that took me about two hours. I really like how it came out. I think that having an image in your head of what you want the outcome to look like really helps.

don't you just loved the beauty of untouches new white snow!?!? *sigh* wish i still lived in Kansas....we had snow there...( i got of track..i swear i hav ADD or something) XD

very good picture btw i love the glowing effect cast by the lantern!!
